Pender Island's residents and recreational property owners enjoy an active
outdoor lifestyle exploring the surrounding waters by sail boat, kayak
or motor boat. The whale watching and salmon fishing is world class and
for the hiker there are countless local beaches, parks and walking trails
to visit.
The mild sub-Mediterranean climate, pristine wilderness and spectacular
ocean and mountain scenery are enough to make anyone appreciate the
great outdoors.
If you'd rather sail, play golf or hike, than shovel snow during those
long winter months you would do well to consider a Pender Island property
for your recreation or retirement.
One of British Columbia's most beautiful 9 hole public golf courses.
This Gulf Island Jewel offers four elevated tee boxes and affords expansive
views of the challenging golf shots that lie ahead.
The course is deceptively challenging, with 6 separate tees for the
back nine, yet it is a great recreation destination course for all handicappers.
With bald eagles soaring high above it is hard to imagine a more enjoyable
place for a round of golf.

The clubs and associations on Pender offer great opportunities to learn
new skills, hone your talents and develop long lasting friendships.
These organizations are responsible in many ways for the vibrant nature
of this close knit community.
There are over forty groups meeting in the community covering interests
like: aerobics, art, badminton, choral, field naturalists, heath care,
newcomers' club, a pipe band, musical theatre, quilters, yacht club
and a number of support groups. For contact information you may use
this link.
Many of the island clubs were formed to meet the specific needs of
newcomers. Just such a club is the Pender Pacers Running Club which
was started up by local marathon runners, Herb and Debbie Katz, who
you may meet here!
Daisy now enjoys Bee Keeping after her introduced to the hobby by a
local club.
