Before retiring to Pender Island, Debbie and Herb had careers
in education in the beautiful City of Edmonton, Alberta, and like so
many before them, Pender started out as a vacation destination but soon
became much more. Visiting Pender became an annual event and as their
visits became longer and longer they became very involved in the community
life and made a number of very special friends.
On one of these trips they purchased land as an investment but with
no plans to retire. However, when the time came to consider retirement
the community and it's lifestyle had become such an important part of
their lives that it was only natural they make their residency official
by building on Pender.
Debbie and Herb's active outdoor activities include cycling, training
on the island roads with the Pender Pacers for their marathon races,
sea kayaking around the Gulf Islands, swimming with the Magic Lake Club.
If you think you would enjoy running all year round, while taking in
the fresh sea air and spectacular ocean and mountain vistas, then you
should consider Pender Island as a vacation or retirement destination.
Please contact Debbie and Herb Katz at (250) 629-3205

For Debbie and Herb, an active retirement means a number of part-time
jobs they really enjoy including their work as licensed Sea Kayak Guides.
Debbie is a cellist who plays in local Pender ensembles and The Victoria
Conservatory of Music.
Herb is a potter, who enjoys making unique items for family and friends.
They both enjoy attending concerts and events at the local community
hall and are very involved in a number of clubs and associations.
